I have literally spent over six months looking for legitimate work-at-home opportunities, spending painstaking hours combing through pages and pages of Google search returns for "work at home". If you have been doing this as well, I can understand your frustration. With all of the offers out there, promising very large amounts of money for "part time effort", it can be easy to start dreaming about a better life, and an extensive change in your cash flow. That is, until you find out that all of these "lucrative" opportunities cost large amounts of money to start, many times never living up to the big money promises that got you interested in the to begin with.
Working from home can be a wonderful experience. When you work from home, you have the opportunity to be your own boss and set your own hours, spend more time with friends and family, and you can avoid morning and rush hour traffic driving to and from the office, not to mention working in the comfort of your pajamas. With the growth and popularity of the internet, there are many opportunities to work from home, but it does take time to find legitimate work-at-home jobs, which means that you may have to spend a lot of time looking around for jobs that fit your lifestyle and interests. If you have decided that working from home would be the best opportunity for you, here are a few ideas to get you started.
First, look to your employer. There may be an opportunity to work from home in your current job, and it may be right under your nose. Some companies do give their employees the option to work from home, even if it's just a few days a week. If your job is one in which you work a lot on the computer, you may be able to link your home computer to your computer at work, doing all of the same things you do at the office. The best thing to do in this situation is ask around, but be prepared to explain why you want to work from home. Of course working from home would be more convenient for you, so in most cases, this reason will not work. Really think about why it would be better for you to work from home, and if that is possible through your employer, be prepared to clearly and concisely articulate your reasons.
However, if you'd like to be your own boss while working from home, there are several other opportunities out there that may fit your interests.
If you like to take photographs, your amateur photography may be the key to working from home for you. There are websites that will pay you for your photographs, sometimes even allowing you to keep total control of the photographs you sell. Shutterpoint.com is one of these websites. Here, you can submit your photos, and set your own selling price (a minimum of $20). Shutterpoint will pay you 85% of the total selling price of your photos. You can browse the site for free, but you will have to buy storage space if you'd like to sell your photos. However, if photography is a passion of yours, the small storage fee is well worth it.
Another way to make money working from home is writing. The internet is filled with text content, and someone has to write it. If you like to write, this may be the best option for you. There are websites that will pay you to write short articles for them, and depending on how much you write, you can make a full time income this way.
According to my research, Associated Content is the best way to work from home as a writer. Associated Content pays its content producers $3-$20 per article and content producers can earn bonus money for each article for gaining page views for their content. You can submit articles, video, and audio on virtually any subject and earn money, so if you'd rather not write, Associated Content will still give you the opportunity to earn money from home.
For many people, working from home is not only convenient, but profitable as well. If you decide that you want to work from home, remember that it is still working, so the amount of time that you put into working from home is directly proportional to what you'll get out of it. Keep at it, and stay positive; there is a lot of opportunity out there, if you're willing and patient enough to look.

First, you must have a strong WHY.
Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?
For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.
If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.
For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.
There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online
and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.
I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the
"old" days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company
you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making
money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.
Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.
That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.
The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow. This is what I call "Making the Leap."
The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar"
world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground.
