If you want an online business that is easy to start, affiliate marketing business is a great choice. While it's easy to get started, you'll have to work hard to become successful.
There are six steps which you need to follow to build a successful affiliate marketing business.
All of these are simple and easy to follow, but you need to follow them if you want to make the most of your affiliate marketing business.

Step 1 - Decide On A Niche Market
Before you even decide what product you'll be marketing, you need to find a target market which is eager to spend their money on products and services which match up with their interests. You'll need to research this in order to find a market which will be a profitable one to sell to.
2. Choose Your Product
After you have a market in mind, then you can choose a good product. Sure, you may want to go with several products, but it is best to only get started with only one product at a time.
When you try to get started with several products, you won't be able to focus on one. You'll try working on various products and none will be successful.
You are better off to go with one product. Once you make that product successful, then you can go on to sell other products as well.
Step 3 - Get An Autoresponder Series Together
Once you get your affiliate marketing business started, you'll need to be able to follow up with people who are interested in what you have to offer. Use an auto-responder to send a series of emails to people who sign up for your list.
Make these emails informative and relevant to your product. For example, if you sell golf balls, write a series of informative emails about your products, as well as information on golf in general, clubs and so on.
You're not going to make a lot of sales from this immediately. It can take a few months before you really start seeing a lot of results, but make your emails creative and informative and you will start to make some income from commissions.
4. Build a Webpage for Email Capture
Add a page to your site where prospects can give you their email address to receive your email series. You will need a website for your affiliate marketing business, of course; make this page a part of it.
Your site will feature your affiliate products and if they're interested in learning more, then they can sign up for your email list.
Step 5 - Use Traffic Generation Techniques
Use traffic generation methods to get people to your site. You won't see the difference overnight, but little by little your traffic will grow. The sooner you start, the sooner you'll get results.
Test several different traffic generation techniques to find out which is the best for your business. Stick with whichever technique gets you the best results.
Step 6 - Find relevant new products to add
After your first product starts bringing you a regular income, add more to your offerings. You'll want to start with just one product which is in demand among your target market .
Once you're ready to add more, choose the ones which will appeal to the same people who are already customers. Feature this new product prominently on your site and include an opt-in form.
The list you build are people who are likely to buy your new products, so make sure to introduce each new product to your list. It all starts with a single product.
After you begin to bring in money with just one product, then you can start adding more products and using the very same process for success.
Before you can have a successful home based business, you must first possess 3
"intangibles." These are things that must come from WITHIN you.

First, you must have a strong WHY.
Why MUST you have a successful home business? What is driving you? What is it that you CAN'T have in your life anymore and/or what is it that you absolutely MUST HAVE now?
For me, I couldn't stand working 12+ hours a day anymore and missing the experience of my children growing up. I also absolutely HAD TO HAVE the freedom of being able to control my life and finances through a little box (laptop computer) that I could carry with me anywhere in the world and not be tied to anyone's time pressures or demands but my own. That was my carrot and my stick. I felt a great pain deep in my gut of missing out on my children's lives and the incredible freedom that succeeding in a home based business would provide for me. I found my why. You MUST find yours.

You must BELIEVE that it is possible.
If you don't believe that it's POSSIBLE for you to have a successful home based business or make your living from home, you won't. It's that simple.
For me, figuring out that it was possible was just a matter of realizing that many other people were ALREADY making great money working from home. If they could do it, I could too. It would just be a matter of figuring out what those people were doing and then adapting it to my situation.
There is no shortage of undeniable PROOF that people (millions of them) are making money working from home. Just get online
and do some research and you'll find countless testimonials and stories of REAL PEOPLE making real money on the Internet. Or head to your local bookstore and you'll find the same documented evidence of this fact. Truth is, it's getting easier and easier to make money with your own home based business.
I've always said that "affiliate marketing" (a simple way to make money from home) is the job of the future. In the
"old" days, you had to go to a potential employer, apply for the position and hope for the best. Now you can simply go to any company
you want, fill out their affiliate application and start work immediately. Affiliates are the new working class. In fact, making
money with affiliate programs or making your living on the Internet is WAY MORE than possible. It is pretty much (or will be soon enough) unavoidable now. Affiliate marketing is the "job" of the future that's already here TODAY.

You must be willing to MAKE THE LEAP.
Ready, FIRE, then aim... This is the operating philosophy you MUST adopt to succeed with a home based business.
That's backwards for most people who like to aim before they fire. The fact is that home based business success is a moving target... The only thing constant about it is change. You need to stop analyzing the game and simply jump into it. You can't learn from the outside... You have to be IN THE RING to truly understand it.
The lesson here is that you will never really be READY to start a home based business. You simply have to start one. It's like having children... You're never really ready, but when it happens you adapt and grow. This is what I call "Making the Leap."
The good news is that the cost of failure with having your own home based business is very small. In the "brick and mortar"
world you need to evaluate things very carefully before you decide to open up a business. It's almost always necessary to invest thousands of dollars to get an offline business off the ground.
