The fourth rule is that a work at home business is work. This seems obvious on the surface, but when you are working at home, household distractions abound. This is especially true if you have children. You should have a designated area that you use as your home office, and a set schedule that you stick with. You should train your children not to disturb you during working hours unless there is an emergency. Let friends and other family members know what your working hours are and ask them to respect them.
